Future Prospects

Since 2002, the Applied English Department has inaugurated 2-year and 4-year bachelor’s degree programs and continuing education 2-year work/study bachelor program—night school. Now the Department is expanding teaching facilities, recruiting more full-time teachers with doctoral degrees to upgrade the quality and quantity of our faculty’s research output, and holding seminars and workshops to promote an atmosphere for more elevated academic research and advanced teaching methods.

In the future, the department will:

• Recruit more fulltime teachers with doctoral degrees in English-related fields and more teachers who are native speakers of English with a master's degree or doctoral degree in English-related fields.
• Cooperate with the language center.
• Encourage students to take English proficiency tests approved by domestic/ international language institutions.
• Establish a self-learning language center.
